rmc would like to congratulate Ms. Amira Baraka Senior Interior Designer for her selection to the prestigious international residency program “Art Omi” in New York State. Amira has been selected as the first ever Egyptian, along with 10 other international professional architects, due to her qualifications and her experience in the fields of Architecture and Interior Design.
Art Omi is a non-profit arts center that hosted more than 2,000 artists from over 100 countries in order to create a diverse, positive working community by transforming the guiding vision into an exciting reality.
Amira’s innovative project is about analyzing examples of living and interventions that have not been integrated within the typical Architectural language. She chose a very creative example of living, which is the “Pigeon Towers” of Cairo.
The objective of her choice is to study the special elevated social space in the tower and its connection to the city.
During the residency period, Eng. Amira and the other candidates must submit and describe a conceptual or practical project on their own. The project was presented in the form of drawings, collages, and digital images in the presence of distinguished Architecture Critic.
